Brand Origin

The tea brand ZenBrew evolved from the ZenBrew Tea Tasting Salon. The salon comprises seven core members, all seasoned tea enthusiasts with over ten years of experience each. United by their love for tea and admiration for a Zen-inspired lifestyle, they have been gathering almost every weekend (except during the COVID-19 pandemic) to discuss tea culture and Zen meditative insights for over six years.

     

On a day in September 2023, members Tok Zhong and Levie Wong proposed the idea, and the group decided to establish the ZenBrew tea brand. Leveraging our team’s years of understanding and dedication to the art of Chinese tea, we aim to introduce China’s rich tea culture to the world. Our goal is to give tea lovers globally the opportunity to experience the authentic essence of ancient Chinese tea.

Brand Philosophy

We believe that tea is not merely a beverage, it is a medium to tranquility and harmony, as well as a lifestyle. The process of brewing and tasting tea is akin to a ritual, allowing you to slow down, focus on the present, and experience the flow of Zen at your fingertips. This Zen essence can soothe your restlessness, organize your thoughts, and provide you with a calm strength to face the pressures and complexities of life.

It is our hope that through tea, we can create a sanctuary for your mind, purify your soul, remind you to savor the beauty of life amidst a busy work schedule, and lead you to face life’s challenges with composure and maintain an optimistic outlook on the future.

How Do We View Teaware ?

We view teaware as an object of artistic beauty, not merely a container to be used during tea drinking. It should serve as a piece of art that can be placed on your desk, beside your computer, or held in your hand, making you pleased every time you see it. Therefore, we have spent considerable time in places like Jingdezhen and Dehua, searching for teaware workshops that possess both aesthetic sensibility and master craftsmanship. Our collaboration with these artisans aims to integrate aesthetics into teaware design.

          

How Do We View Tea Leaves ?

We see them as gifts from nature. For example, the Niu Lan Keng rock tea from Wuyi Mountain in Fujian, China, owes its unique brewing taste to its distinctive natural environment. If tea bags are like instant coffee, then loose leaf tea is akin to hand-poured coffee, requiring you to slow down and immerse in the brewing process, gradually savoring the rising aroma of the tea, allowing your mind to relax in the process.

To ensure that tea lovers around the world can experience the most authentic Chinese tea, we have traveled extensively across China’s famous tea mountains, deeply engaging with many tea farmers, and personally sampling various brewed teas—all to bring that perfect tea aroma from the distant mountains of China to you.

Brand Vision

At ZenBrew Tea Studio, our goal is to spread Chinese tea culture across the globe. We aim to share not only the most authentic Chinese teas but also tea accessories that embody classical Chinese aesthetics, as well as the essence of Chinese tea ceremonies. We hope that friends around the world can experience the enchantment of tea, feel the Zen it brings, and gain a sense of calm power to navigate life’s challenges.
