Collection: Black Tea

Black tea, also known as fully fermented tea, is one of the most consumed types of tea globally. Its unique reddish-brown color and rich aroma come from a complete fermentation process, which gives black tea its distinctive taste and fragrance. Major producing regions include China, India, and Sri Lanka, with famous varieties such as Keemun from China, Assam tea from India, and Ceylon tea from Sri Lanka.

The production process of black tea involves four main steps: withering, rolling, fermenting, and drying. Initially, the tea leaves are withered to reduce moisture content and make them pliable. Then, rolling breaks the leaves’ cell structures to release flavors and aromas. The crucial fermentation step follows, where the leaves oxidize under controlled temperature and humidity to develop black tea’s characteristic color and aroma. Finally, drying fixes the leaves’ color and scent.

Black tea can be brewed in various ways to showcase different flavors, typically using water near boiling to fully extract the tea’s flavors and aromas. Regular consumption of black tea offers multiple health benefits, including stimulating mental alertness, aiding digestion, and providing antioxidants. Its rich flavor and health benefits make black tea an indispensable part of global tea culture.
