Product Overview
This 2025 spring-harvested White Peony (Bai Mudan) white tea is sourced from the high-mountain tea gardens of Ningde, Fujian Province, China. Carefully picked as one bud with one or two tender leaves, it is processed through traditional sun-wilting and light drying methods, preserving the tea’s original flavor and structure. The dry leaves are a beautiful blend of silvery buds and green-brown leaves, arranged like peony petals—hence the name. As a signature variety of white tea, White Peony is cherished for its graceful appearance, soft fragrance, and smooth, gentle character.
Taste & Aroma
White Peony brews into a bright apricot-yellow liquor with a soft and lingering aroma. The fragrance combines sweet floral notes, fresh hay, and a hint of mellow nuttiness. The taste is light yet rounded—sweet, smooth, and refreshing, with a soft texture and lasting aftertaste. As the infusions progress, subtle transitions emerge—hints of jujube and lotus leaf add depth and elegance. The overall experience is clean, mild, and soothing—an ideal companion for calm, springtime tea moments.
Health Benefits
As a lightly oxidized white tea, White Peony is rich in tea polyphenols, amino acids, vitamins, and antioxidants. It is known for its cooling and detoxifying properties—supporting lung health, liver function, vision, and immunity. Its balanced, non-irritating nature makes it suitable for year-round consumption. Regular drinking may also help reduce oral odor, regulate metabolism, and promote digestive comfort. It is a perfect daily tea for those seeking wellness, serenity, and a natural lifestyle.
Brewing Guide
To preserve White Peony’s tender fragrance and soft flavor, a low-temperature, slow-brewing method is recommended. Suggested guidelines are as follows:
- Tea-to-Water Ratio: 3g of tea per 150ml (5 oz) of water
- Water Temperature: Around 85°C (185°F)
-
Brewing Method:
- Use a glass cup, porcelain gaiwan, or teapot; preheat the vessel beforehand
- For the first steep, infuse for about 30 seconds; increase time slightly for each subsequent infusion
- Use either “top pour” or “middle pour” to preserve fragrance and prevent bitterness
- Re-steeping: Suitable for 4 to 6 infusions, with a soft and elegant flavor throughout
- Recommended Vessels: Glass cups for enjoying leaf unfurling; porcelain gaiwan for appreciating subtle aromas—both excellent for gentle sipping
