Product Overview
This Yinghong No.9 black tea is crafted from the spring 2025 harvest in Yingde, Guangdong Province, China. Made from the nationally recognized premium cultivar “Yinghong No.9,” it follows a light fermentation process unique to southern Chinese red teas. The dry leaves are tightly rolled, with a lustrous black appearance and golden tips—elegant and striking. As one of the most acclaimed high-aroma black teas in South China, Yinghong No.9 is celebrated for its rich fragrance, sweet body, and smooth character, earning it the title “Crown Jewel of Lingnan Red Tea.”
Taste & Aroma
Once brewed, Yinghong No.9 releases a graceful, layered fragrance—featuring orchid notes, honey sweetness, and a hint of fruit. The aroma is complex yet harmonious. The liquor is bright orange-yellow, with a smooth and full-bodied mouthfeel. It delivers a rich, sweet taste without bitterness, and a soft, lingering finish. The fragrance remains in the cup and lingers on the palate. Balanced and vibrant, this tea offers the brisk clarity of southern red teas with the roundness of high-mountain varietals—a delightful harmony of aroma, sweetness, and depth.
Health Benefits
As a lightly fermented black tea, Yinghong No.9 is rich in polyphenols, flavonoids, caffeine, and other beneficial compounds. It may support mental alertness, improve digestion, balance lipid metabolism, and offer antioxidant protection. The soothing aroma helps relieve stress and elevate mood, making it ideal for mornings, afternoon refreshment, or post-fatigue recovery. Naturally warming and gentle on the stomach, this tea is suitable for all seasons and makes an excellent daily wellness drink, especially for busy urban lifestyles.
Brewing Guide
To fully capture its aromatic complexity and rich taste, Yinghong No.9 performs best when brewed at medium to high temperatures. Recommended guidelines are:
- Tea-to-Water Ratio: 3g of tea per 150 ml (5 oz) of water
- Water Temperature: Around 90°C (194°F)
-
Brewing Method:
- Use a porcelain gaiwan or glassware to fully appreciate both aroma and liquor clarity
- Steep the first infusion for 20 seconds; gradually extend steeping time to 30–40 seconds for subsequent infusions
- Use a fairness pitcher to maintain consistent flavor across servings
- Re-steeping: Can be brewed 4–6 times, retaining stable aroma and sweetness
- Recommended Vessels: A gaiwan emphasizes its aromatic layers, while glass teaware highlights visual appeal—both perfect for daily or formal settings
