Product Overview
This Zhengshan Xiaozhong black tea originates from the core protected area of Wuyishan, Nanping, Fujian, China—widely regarded as the birthplace of black tea. Handcrafted from the first flush spring buds harvested in 2025, it follows the time-honored traditional processing methods of authentic Zhengshan Xiaozhong. The dry leaves are tightly twisted and lustrous with subtle golden tips, producing a brilliant red liquor and layered aroma. Revered for its rich heritage and refined craftsmanship, Zhengshan Xiaozhong remains a cornerstone of Chinese black tea.
Taste & Aroma
Upon brewing, the tea emits a full-bodied fragrance led by sweet honey notes, gracefully interwoven with natural floral and fruity undertones. The taste is smooth and mellow, with a rounded body and a bright, sweet finish. The liquor is vibrant red and crystal clear, while the aroma clings to the cup with exceptional persistence. It offers a balanced expression—rich without being overpowering, and fragrant without being cloying. This tea is ideal for slow, mindful sipping and embodies the harmony of tradition and flavor.
Health Benefits
As a lightly fermented black tea, Zhengshan Xiaozhong is rich in polyphenols, flavonoids, caffeine, and aromatic compounds. It may help promote mental clarity, support digestion, warm the body, and provide antioxidant effects. Its gentle and sweet profile makes it a comforting choice for daily wellness, especially suited for colder body types or during seasonal transitions. With regular consumption, it can help reduce fatigue, improve breath, and contribute to overall vitality—a timeless and balanced tonic for both body and spirit.
Brewing Guide
To fully release its rich aroma and mellow flavor, Zhengshan Xiaozhong performs best with high-temperature water. Suggested brewing parameters are:
- Tea-to-Water Ratio: 3g of tea per 150 ml (5 oz) of water
- Water Temperature: Around 95°C (203°F)
-
Brewing Method:
- Use a porcelain gaiwan or teapot; preheat the vessel before adding tea
- For the first infusion, steep for about 20 seconds; extend steeping time by 10–15 seconds for each subsequent brew
- Pour into a fairness cup for balanced flavor distribution
- Re-steeping: Can be brewed 5–6 times, maintaining flavor and fragrance
- Recommended Vessels: A gaiwan highlights its floral and honeyed aroma, while a clay teapot enhances body and depth—both excellent choices depending on the drinking occasion
